About Overeem Whisky One of Tasmania’s original single malt distilleries, Overeem was founded by Casey Overeem in Hobart in 2005, with the family-run distillery now led by his daughter Jane and her husband Mark. Every whisky is matured in French and American oak — mostly ex-sherry and ex-port casks — for a minimum of five years, then bottled as single cask and individually numbered. It’s a small, meticulous operation that’s earned a serious following well beyond Tasmania.
